Spinal Cord Injury
Helping people who have spinal cord injuries was what first motivated Alejandra to get involved in learning about physical therapy and neurology and this continues to be a driving force behind her work. She finds it incredibly gratifying to work with people who really need help and be a part of their progress.
When working with high-performance athletes, Alejandra's job is all about fine-tuning. She analyzes the way the athlete moves and
figures out which muscles are underdeveloped or are not being used most effectively. At the professional level, little adjustments make all
the difference. In the studio, Alejandra works with the athlete using Neuro Kinesis Pilates to strengthen and improve their body function and mobility. This helps the athlete to maximize their potential and prevent physical injury.
Alejandra's personalized approach is perfect for any person looking to get relief from chronic aches and pains, a complement to formal rehabilitation or fitness programs, recover from sports and other injuries, or to prepare for an athletic objective.
In addition to training and working remotely with other Physical Therapists in Chile, Alejandra is also building an apprenticeship program on Maui. It’s a privilege to have discovered a system that works so well and she feels that it’s her responsibility to pass on the knowledge and understanding of Neuro Kinetic Pilates (NKP).
